Auditions are first-come, first-served. Report to the Choir Rehearsal Room to check in.
Audition results letters will be sent the week of August 11. First rehearsal is Thursday, August 21.
Audition Requirements:
• Students must be between the ages of 7 – 15.
• Students will need to come with a parent or guardian at any time during the audition period, complete an audition form, and audition. We will audition singers in the order in which they come.
• Singers will be asked to sing a simple song (a familiar hymn or "Happy Birthday").
• Singers will be asked to read a melodic line, clap a rhythmic passage, or echo sing.
• Singers will vocalize with a piano to find their range.
Additional Information
• Rehearsals are at the McCorkle Music Building every Thursday from 4:15 PM – 5:45 PM (5:30 PM for the Preparatory Choir).
• Cost – Tuition for the Touring Choir is $150 per semester. Tuition for the Preparatory Choir is $125 per semester. The MUCC is committed to music making for every child. Scholarships funds are limited and available on a need basis. Scholarship forms will be available at the audition.
• The Touring Choir conducted a concert tour to New York City in June of 2008.
